Anghiari is a medieval village, where the famous battle between the duke of Milan, Filippo Maria Visconti and the Republic of Florence, took place in June 1440. Leonardo da Vinci painted a famous fresco of this battle in Palazzo Vecchio. The museum of the Battle has its seat at Marzocco Palace, in Anghiari; inside, a room dedicated to this event shows the various stages of the conflict through a plastic model with hundreds of hand painted characters and information about Leonardo’s technique for his Anghiari’s battle.
